Hello all! It's intern Laura, and I'm back because Jenny asked me to compile a mini-report on some fun and fashionable new books. I'm a big bookworm, but with my final semester (sniff!) at NYU drawing to a close, I just haven't had much time for leisure reading, outside of my requisite stack of magazines of course. So I was more than happy to take on this assignment and get in some quality library time. So relax, and have fun picking out your next stylish read--and let us know if you have any great books--style related or not--to add to this list.
… Style Statement: Live by Your Own Design by Danielle LaPorte and Carrie McCarthy is the new millennium's answer to Color Me Beautiful. Instead of color-coordinated seasons, we have pairs of adjectives that apparently can help you solve all your problems. The book is filled with beautiful photography and so many descriptors it could almost be a thesaurus. Through a series of new-agey quizzes, the ladies guide you to determine your two word "style statement". Mine is "Glamorous Goofy" which, I must admit, seems pretty accurate considering my undying love for leopard print.
