Work At Home Jobs, Finding Legitimate Oppurtunities
Being able to work from home holds mass appeal; however, we all know about and are leery of the scams that happen all the time. So the question is, I want to work from home but how do I find a legitimate work at home job.
Many of the people that want to stay at home are parents, those that other types of commitments to family member(s), or even just those that hate the monotony of the daily travel and the office politicking.
It’s important that when you’re looking for work from home that you stick within the things that are going to match your skills and level of experience. It’ll be a waste of your time as a provider if you try to go for something that you aren’t ready to handle yet. A lot of jobs are done on a contract basis and if you don’t fulfill your contract you’re likely to not get paid or only a partial payment.
Childcare
One of the more obvious choices if you’re a mom that wants to stay at home with the kids is if you can handle a group of kids to start your own home daycare. It will allow you to raise your children while helping out working parents and making a consistent income. It will also save you a fortune on the daily commute and the need to purchase your office clothing and other office job related expenses.
The only potential downside is whether or not you have a big enough place and if you are able to have enough comfortable space in order to take in the amount of children that you’d need to make the money that you’d need to.
If the income portion isn’t as important with taking in a lot of kids then just however many you can fit comfortably would be good playmates for your child and you get paid for it at the same time. The perfect fit would be someone that has a finished basement or something big enough for a play area, safe yard, toys, books and other learning activities available. You also need to make sure that you look into local state laws before you’d start any home daycare. There are often restrictions on the amount of children you can watch over.
This type of a job wouldn’t be right for everyone as there is a large amount of patience that is needed and not all of us have enough to make it. I know I don’t!
Writing and Copywriting
For the people that have excellent writing, grammar and editing ability would be perfect for finding an online writing job. These are usually done on a contract or freelance basis. You’ll likely need some experience and build at least a small portfolio to be considered for most projects though there are jobs that you can find to start your base as everyone has to start from somewhere.
You can make a pretty significant income when it comes to getting into business writing and copywriting. The only downside is there is really stiff competition for these jobs so you have to find a way to stand out in the crowd and if you don’t have enough experience to be considered you should get some more work under your belt before going for a job like this.
The one thing a lot of people will do is still hold their regular job and start doing some writing from home on a part-time basis until they are able to build a big enough base to transition it into fulltime employment. Also doing this allows you to venture into this job market and make sure that it is going to be right for you before you quit your job and find yourself struggling to figure out what you’re going to do now. Since work is not always at a steady intake you’ll want to make sure that you pick up some clients and have some money set aside to make sure you’re able to cover your living expenses for at least 2-3 months. No matter how first-rate of a writer you are this is still one of the strongest recommendations as it can still take awhile to build up your client base.
Medical Transcription
For someone with the skills of being a fast typist and have some training and knowledge in transcription and the medical field this would be a perfect opportunity.
You’ll find jobs the best for this by checking at your local doctor’s offices and hospitals and assess the demand for that job in your area. You’ll find that you can find steady work that will pay well as well. For those that want remote work there are some of those options available; however, it’s best to start to gain some local experience before you venture to try to get a job remotely as you’ll be more likely to get hired.
Other Opportunities
There are so many other options out there as well it’s hard to list them all out. There are many small, medium to large businesses that are looking to outsource work. You just need to take the time and find the right opportunities. They are out there if you take the time to find them. The nice thing is that you can find more than one client and pickup as much work as you can handle. Check resources online as well as looking in your local paper and you could even call some of the local business you know or think might need some help.
