What’s the best concert you ever attended?
“… everyone was using tiny brushes and doing watercolors, while Jimi Hendrix was painting galactic scenes in Cinemascope. Musicians are working in a field of mystical resonance, sound and vibration… that’s what makes people cry, laugh and feel their hair stand up …” – Carlos Santana

Carrie says: At 15 years old I saw The Divine Miss M, Bette Midler, at a dinner club, three waspy girls surrounded by beautiful boys all watching a raunchy, feminine and sexy Bette performing in sleeper pajamas.
Danielle says: Sinead O’Connor. ‘95. Toronto. White tank, micro mini kilt, unplugged version of The Last Day of Our Acquaintance, flawless vocals. It was the most constructive, creative display of anger and girl power that I’d ever witnessed. Being in my early 20s, filled with chick rage myself, I thought “Shit, I need to do make some art outta my angst.” The result was some very bad poetry, and a deeper sense of self acceptance. Sinead is still tops on my music chart.Read (and listen to!) Danielle’s Cosmic Chicks Playlist (Volume 1)
