What Is Your Favorite Meal of the Day, and How Will You Enjoy It Today?

“I like vending machines, because snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at the store, oftentimes I will drop it so that is achieves its maximum flavor potential.” — Mitch Hedberg

Carrie says: My favorite meal of the day is breakfast! After a great run or yoga class I love to have a big bowl of steel cut oats. Top it with Canadian maple syrup and I’m good to go!
Jessica says: I second breakfast. There’s nothing better than cereal (3 different kinds at once, of course!) with berries, banana, and a hot mug of English Breakfast tea. Heaven.

I too love breakfast best. I also eat cereal and love the sensory feeling of crispness and cold milk in my mouth after the long fast of night. Taste, texture, smell, crunchy noise. Its sensory heaven.

Definitely dinner! It is the time of the day when I relax from work or other stuff and I enjoy the company of my husband and we exchange news (dinner is our quality time), or I am with my family (parents, brother, sister, the BIG thing) or with friends at home (I love throwing dinner parties). Good food, good wine, good company… yes… definitely dinner!!!

Okay, breakfast used to be mine but now that I have shifted to protein shakes for breakfast and dinner I have to put a plug in for lunch. I make egg white omelettes or a nice hearty soup or a big healthy salad. I stop in the middle of my day and relish in the quiet (everyone else at school or work) and the gift of being able to do what I love in my own home.

I love the many snacks I eat between meals. Chocolate, more chocolate, chumus and veggies, and more chocolate. And I also love dinner, a meal I put a lot of love into and eat with my family.

Why are you starving yourself? Eat more food!!

I'm torn between breakfast and lunch. Breakfast because I love prepping my day with a healthy meal of bran flakes, goji berries and blueberries.
Lunch because it's a break in my day and I sit with a magazine at work and just chill for a bit.

My vote is for supper. (It's the evening meal I used to call dinner before moving to the rural East coast where “dinner” is the noon meal. I find lunch & supper are less likely to be misunderstood.)
Because mornings are hectic & my husband works in the city at least 3 days each week, supper is the only meal that we can sit down at together and talk. Communication is the lifeblood of a marriage & we treasure that time.
Besides, meals are more about the company than the food, aren't they? And my husband is the best company I know!

oh yeah i'm a breakfast girl too! or maybe it's more like brunch… i used to love going to diners in the mid morning. i've had to get more creative though now that i don't eat refined sugars, eggs and most dairy! if i'm going out and the place has decent decaf, soy milk and turkey bacon/sausage and a half decent whole-grain something i'm so happy! at home i love to bake for breakfast– muffins, banana bread or buckwheat pancakes. most mornings, though, it's whole-grain toast with either vegan cream cheese and turkey bacon, sunflower seed butter and bananas or oat bran with coconut oil, ginger and agave. clearly i'm ready to eat cause this little comment got really involved…

I love breakfast too! Today I'll mix up one of my spinach-blueberry smoothies. I know it sounds gross, but it's really good. I usually complement it with whole wheat toast. There's nothing better than the smell of toast in the morning.

I have a piece of cherry pie waiting for me for dinner, and so I believe I am going to make pancakes, bacon, and eggs, and then eat relish the cherry pie, maybe with some tea. And I may take a bath to top it all off! I enjoy breakfast a lot, but dinner with a good dessert is just so nice. No rushing, no agenda, just good food and peace and quiet.

I love dinner! It's my favourite meal of the day and I really look forward to the whole process of it – opening a great bottle of red, putting on some Nina Simone, and letting my imagination run wild in the kitchen. I savour every moment with every sense – touch, sound, taste…perfect way to unwind and take it all in. Great food, great music, great conversation – does it get any better?
Tonight I'm seeing the stage adaptation of 'Pride and Prejudice' with a girlfriend. We're going to find an English pub afterwards and have an Austen-type supper – bangers and mash, sheppards pie, good-English fare. Can't wait!

I'm a sucker for Nutella and cappuccino…I guess that counts as breakfast, though I tend to have both at all times of the day.

My favourite meal of the day is dinner. I usually start with a salad of romaine with cucumbers and tomatoes and homemade oil and vinegar dressing. Then an entree of chicken and some rice and a vegetable. Yummy!

Depends on the day, time, & company. If it's Sunday, then brunch whether in or out. Lunch with my funny chica friends is my favorite meal on those days. But usually it's dinner because I love to cook and that's when it happens.

I love breakfast. Especially a clean one like oatmeal with berries, almonds and agave nectar with a nice big mug of green tea. YUM It sets the tone for my day. I feel nourished and ready to seize the day.

My favourite meal is dinner – something to look forward to during the day! Nothing elaborate – something like mixed salad greens with spinach, purple cabbage, avacado, radishes, celery, red peppers, feta cheese, almonds, sunflower seeds and balsamic vinaigrette dressing! Serve with bowl of homemade soup and focaccia bread or slice of french bread. Satisfying and delicious and nutritious!

I love….love…..LOVE breakfast! On the weekends its anywhere from bacon and eggs to Chicken and corn hash with poached eggs on top. (I skip the hollandaise sauce) and a great cup of coffee. Weekend mornings are times I truly treasure!
During the “work week” its usually cereal or toast with fruit. AND COFFEE!!

Brunch is my favorite meal. I like the slower pace of brunches. I also enjoy the mix of traditional breakfast foods with more savory offerings that are usually part of brunch service.

I love to eat breakfast for dinner. I have cereal almost everyday, so eating an omelet or eggs benedict is such a treat for me, that I love to save it for dinner.

At the end of the work day, when I get to sit down with my daughter and talk about her day.
Teenagers can give us such a new perspective on life. I always leave the meal feeling so
blessed.

Definitely breakfast BUT eating it on the road when your'e on vacation is the best. A stack of pancakes or Belgium waffles, crisp bacon and a giant latte to take in the car. Or bacon and eggs with home fries, fresh o.j. and good coffee (hard to find on the road though, unless you're in a Starbuck or Second Cup area of a city). Cereal is good and especially steel cut oats, but I can have THAT every day, so the aforementioned is my favourite. Didn't actually get to breakfast today.. had an early yoga class and didn't want to eat, then ran errands, and just got home 5 hours later… just brewing some fresh ground coffee and getting set to relax with a yummy sandwich…not what I intended but couldn't wait.

Dinner is my favorite since it usually includes wine. On good days it gives me an opportunity to create something delightful to sustain us. On great days my hubby cooks for me.
And some days it's an opportunity to go out, so neither of us has to do the dishes.

Depends on the day, but I always look forward to breakfast, which is without fail very delicious and involving blueberries and cinnamon, as I use them to balance my blood sugar. Then it just depends on scheduling… but I love having dinner with my husband. We don't talk about much while we eat, just about the food, savoring it, and then have a leisurely conversation afterward. This is my favorite way to enjoy a meal, and I am lucky he shares my passion for good food, even if our tastes often differ.

While brunch is my favorite, today I am going to enjoy an after dinner treat instead. I am going to have a chocolate and caramel mini-cake that I am going to eat slowly so I can savor every sweet bite.

Lunch. That's when I satisfy my cravings
January 29th, 2009 at 7:19 am
My favorite meal of the day is, has to be breakfast, because I eat little or no dinner, on purpose…so by morning my body is ready to be refueled… So I love a whole fresh Florida grapefruit, with a hard-boiled egg, and some fresh low fat cottage cheese. and a cup of either Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee, or Chinese Black Tea….. I need to ask, though: when you say steel cut oats, you ARE cooking them, right? I ask because knowing you both, little would surprise me!!! lolololololol
