What is Behind Male Impotence?
When a man in unable to sexually perform in the bedroom and is unable to satisfy his partner, he might be suffering from a decreased libido or in a more extreme case, male impotence. A loss of libido can lead to impotence. Impotence and low libidos affect more men than reported. A large number of men do not admit to this problem and spend agonizing years worrying about it until it is too late to find a solution to this problem. The first step in dealing with this problem is admitting to the problem and then understanding the nature and causes of the problem.
A decreased libido in man could be because of many reasons. A recent life changing event that has demoralized the man and brought on bitter disappointments can make him lose interest in sex. A severely depressed man cannot be expected to take a lot of interest in sex. Stress caused by a variety of reasons can also rob a man of his libido. The pressures of every day life can get so severe that it can lead to a loss of libido in the man. Stress at work and the pressures that come with it can be very tough, and dealing with it can get difficult for most people. If that stress is not tackled properly and is not sorted out quickly, a man can lose his sex drive and that can lead to a decreased libido. Guilt and anxiety are also responsible for a decreased interest in sex. Psychological reasons which lead to a sense of guilt can completely ruin sex drive. The health of a family member and concern about a loved one’s health can make a man too preoccupied to think about his own pleasures and needs. Several medicines that people take can be responsible for low libidos. Medical conditions like cancer and diabetes ruin sex drive and physical stamina which can lead to impotence. People suffering from hypertension are also a victim of a low sex drive. If a man is not confident about his appearance he can lose all his self confidence and this will show when he tries to have sex. Smoking and consuming excess alcohol can weaken the system and reduce sex drive. Injuries due to accidents or suffered while playing sports can also cause the sex organs to weaken. This leads to impotence.
Impotence can be defined as:
- The inability to have an erection
- The inability to hold an erection for any length of time
- The inability to have a full and solid erection
Any one of these conditions can be considered to be impotence. It is easier to cure a decreased libido than it is to cure impotence. A decreased libido is the start of impotence. Some precautions can be taken to check a loss of libido. Regular exercise is the absolute first step to improving one’s chances of fighting a decreased libido. Maintaining a stress-free environment and meditating can improve sex drive and prevent male impotence. Confiding in and communicating with one’s partner is very important to deal with this issue together.
