We ask. You answer. Every question gets you thinking about what's true for you.

What do you regret?

Daily | July 23rd, 2008

Writer Victoria Holt says, “Never regret. If it’s good, it’s wonderful. If it’s bad, it’s experience.”

Carrie says: Shoulda stayed in London after design school and made a mark, shoulda listened to my body and not over-trained as an athlete, shoulda had a baby in my thirties. And I don’t believe in shoulds. I know so clearly and so deeply that I am where I need to be because every desperately painful moment and unaware choice I made has placed me here.

Danielle says: I should have gone to more live concerts when I lived so close to Detroit (everyone plays Detroit!). I should have told a certain cowboy what he was missing (I regret the things I haven’t said more than anything I have said). But on the whole, regret doesn’t groove with my psyche. Which isn’t to say I haven’t made some whopping mistakes in my life that I’d love to magically retract.
