  1. Krysta Says:

whowhatweardaily.com – fashion news without the gossip and “nastiness”. I especially LOVE the podcast downloads.

  2. Kristin Says:

    http://www.deliciousdays.com – beautiful food
    http://www.designspongeonline.com – beautiful design
    http://www.ted.com – beautiful ideas

  3. Liz Says:

    http://www.thelipster.com/
UK music, film and gossip with a feminist slant

  4. Joanne Says:

    http://www.happiness-project.com/
I’ve been reading this for a few months now, and have picked up some great tips for living with happiness in mind.

  5. Girl-WOman Says:

Well, it goes without saying — but I must say it anyway — Carrie and Danielle’s blog. You get my motor started in the morning. After my motor is started — a little self-promotion here — you can find me at Girl-Woman-Beauty-Brains-Blog.com. As a network partner with Totalbeauty.com and Coutorture.com , I am always checking their pulse. For humor, The Best Kept Secret is smart and witty. Danielle, I am a logophile, too. Dictionary.com is pure energy to me. I have found news one to visit from your lists. Thanks.

  6. Kristin (the Goat) Says:

http://www.scribbit.blogspot.com (A blog about a mother in Alaska. Sounds ho hum, but she talks about everything & has some great kid projects)
http://www.thepioneerwoman.com (I am a faithful reader each day.)
http://www.decor8.com & http://www.apartmenttherapy.com (I love to just wander around looking at stuff. I love the inspiration I get from decorating sites.)
http://www.designspongeonline.com (someone else already mentioned this, but I love this blog. I am so inspired each day by it. I love the guides too – guides to clocks, furniture, city guides to Chicago, Boston, Paris, and guides to Christmas giving.)
https://www.fabulousstationery.com (This is the greatest stationery. I love the look, the feel and ther weight of it. The designs are so much fun.)

I love to be inspired. Have I mentioned that already? I can actually feel the pottery, furniture and linens as I go through blogs and design sites. I haven’t gone to the movies in years, but I am transported each day by these sites. I love it. However, my first shot of creativity & thought comes each morning when I visit here. Thanks Carrie and Danielle! (and everyone who posts each day.)

  7. Andrea Devis Says:

Fark.com, I prefer my news with as much depression sucked out of it as possible. And Sweetsassafras.org, I wish I had known this woman before I left the Bay Area. Unphotographable.com, for moments when you have that “Oh! I wish I had my camera” or have enough respect when you have one and should refrain from using it.”

  8. Chantal Says:

http://carrieanddanielle.com of course! It’s engaging, inspiring and informative.

    http://dailycoyote.blogspot.com -
Charlie came into my life when he was just ten days old, orphaned after both his parents were killed. He lives with me and a tomcat in a one-room log cabin in Wyoming

    http://www.etsy.com – everything handmade

  9. Roxane Says:

International News and resources at a glance when time is limited http://www.spiegel.de/international/
The current most innovative and resourceful hardcover and online magazine: http://monocle.com/

  10. Xai Vicente Charles Says:

Besides Carrie and Danielle’s site, one of my favorite sites is Lifehacker http://www.lifehacker.com. This site will keep you informed on ways to organize your daiily routine.

  11. Shannon Says:

I would have to say that one site I almost always have up is http://twitter.com/ It’s like a RSS feed but with the fun and personality of the writers.

  12. Andrew Says:

    http://decor8.blogspot.com – Great design blog

  13. Trish Says:

I too love The Sartorialist because of its simplicity and human-ness (if that’s a word). I usually leave other clothing sites feeling like I have to buy something that I can’t afford (ahem ahem lagarconne.com) but sartorialist is more about appreciation and cultivating real personal style. Other daily checks:

101cookbooks.com – Heidi Swanson is my latest cooking muse, whole vegetarian foods, beautiful photos, easy. I want to be her…seriously.

angrychicken.typepad.com – Amy Karol site, author of Bend the Rules Sewing, approachable crafts, recipes, and other DIY goodies.

  14. Dayna Says:

PaperbackSwap is a free, online book swapping site where you post the books you are willing to trade in exchange for any of the over 2 million available, including hardbacks, paperbacks, and audiobooks. The only “cost” is in mailing your requested book(~$2.40), which enables you to order another from any of the over 50,000 other members. I love the message boards there, too! Happy Reading!

  15. Ishita Gupta Says:

I check them everyday for a few minutes each. Provides inspiration and little nuggets of energy and encouragement throughout the day that i very much need/crave.
    Zenhabits.net
“The Art of Nonconformity” at chrisguillebeau.com
    carrieanddanielle.com
    lifedev.net
    happiness-project.com

  16. Don Says:

I visit Craigslist everyday and although not inspirational or educational, it represents what the net can do and puts everyday people in control of content. It allows a democratic pricing mechanism to influence the market. It’s also a .org site. Love it.

  17. Daniel Gibbons Says:

Agreed, but I wish it was more reliable. We have it set up to send a tweet each time we publish a blog post, but it hasn’t been working properly for ages.

  18. Daniel Gibbons Says:

Lifehacker is indispensable, and I have a guilty addiction to the tech gossip at Valleywag.

  19. Lynda Says:

My absolute all time favorite has got to be TED.com! Check it out, it’s terrific. Filled with all kinds of latest ideas…presentations by individuals who you might not necessarily get to ever see or hear in person….

  20. Shannon Says:

That’s true – sometimes they are ‘overtweeted’ and functionality goes down which is a drag but I do enjoy seeing slices of everyones life… who has apple pie, lemon torte or creme brulee…

  21. lisaohhh Says:

http://www.postsecret.com – often funny, sometimes heartbreaking, always fascinating.

  22. Sea Says:

This is a great website to make personalized stationary….its super cute…believe me it can become addicting. Its great for gifts.
But the great thing is that for each sale they donate money to a stage 4 breast cancer foundation.

  23. Sea Says:

    opps…here it is
    http://www.designhergals.com/

  24. Sarah Says:

http://www.shuzsociety.com– For those with a sole addiction!
I can embrace my infatuation with shoes at http://www.shuzsociety.com... get my “shuz-scope”, give my opinion by voting on the “shoe of the day”, see examples of all the latest trends, hear what the shoe designers themselve have to say, check out shoe related retailers… all in one place. Did I mention they give away a FREE pair of designer shoes every Friday in their “Fab Friday” giveaway?!!!

  25. Carrie McCarthy Says:

Did you know Monocle is the brain child of a Canadian who started Wallpaper mag? Thanks for the reminder to check it out!

  26. Angèle Says:

I teach French, and this is my one stop website for being in a French speaking world outside of France. I couldn ‘t start my day without it!

  36. Ngonzi Truth Crushshon Says:

I meant http://www.facebook.com …I didn’t mean to say myspace twice.

  37. Cathy Says:

I just found this site: polyvore.com. It’s all the fun of collage making and scrapbooking, with none of the mess, AND you get to see what other people arrange, as well. If you like fashion/style/art, it’s a blast, and so simple!

    Just be careful, it’s addicting!

  38. Annah Says:

At the risk of sounding like a “tween”, I am seriously addicted to myspace and facebook. I keep both of them open all day, and they are my chief way of communicating with my friends and family – who are scattered all over the map – and keeping tabs on my favorite bands, etc. But i’m also excited to check out some of the sites listed here and broaden the horizons a bit.

  39. Svetlana Says:

I’ve recently become obsessed with Pandora, which is like having a personal radio station at your fingertips. Pandora’s Music Genome Project analyzes the qualities of your favorite music and finds songs similar in those qualities, both new and old, that you might enjoy. It is incredibly fun and eye-opening, as you get to rediscover old gems and learn about new ones. It is like having a supremely knowledgeable and intuitive musician friend.
