What’s your Inspiration Barometer?

Creativity | May 29th, 2008 No comments

Carrie and I believe that the question, What inspires me? Could revolutionize one’s life. But, how do you know what inspires you? Everyone has an Inspiration Barometer. For some people, it’s very somatic – it lives in their body. When you see a great dress or hear a poem, you feel inspiration in your bones, you’re light, you’re tingly, you’re warm.

When something inspires me, I feel clear-headed. My mind feels spacious and quiet, sort of like a modern art gallery – lot’s of space, with glowing spotlights on great work. If I’m turned off or repelled, I feel grey and a bit panicky, like I need to get away from the Bad Idea as soon as possible.

Test your tingly metrics. How do you know when something works for you? Softer breathing, a deep smile inside, a voice inside that says Yes! The more in tune you are with what really and truly works for you, the more easily you can bring that into your life.

Love,
Danielle, Sacred Dramatic
