Water the Flowers, Not the Weeds: Learning From the Law of Attraction

So I believe in the Law Of Attraction, which for me boils down to what you water grows. Whatever you devote your time and attention to, be it flowers or be it weeds, will grow when watered and tended to. It is a law that states you have ultimate responsibility in your life because you are creating everything, or attracting everything via your thoughts and feelings.
Extremely empowering on the one hand, yet when things come up that you feel displeased with there is no one to blame but yourself. No one. So when, as happened to me a few weeks ago, the seam of your skirt (near my butt, though I was thankfully wearing black tights) starts coming open during a FASHION STYLING presentation, it should make a girl stop and think.
Thoughts Gone Wild
What the hell had I been thinking about? Why would I have created that embarrassing scenario? Though it may not have been quite as bad as it sounds, because the woman who hired me reported that she had not noticed (I promptly emailed her after arriving home and noticing the aptly titled black hole). Then again, it might have been, and she may have been just trying to spare my feelings despite the fact she’d been staring at my butt along.
How To Find Your Own Evidence For The Law Of Attraction
If you have any faith in the Law Of Attraction or even if you are just curious, it seems wise to evaluate both the good and the not so good manifestations for evidence of this powerful law at work. Take a minute to think about your life in the last few weeks, months, or years. Write down some of the significant occurrences, then write down your general thoughts or emotional state around at the time.
Write down your thoughts and feelings about the situation or just in general before it manifested. Are they a match? Not in exact content (I had not been fearfully worrying about a wardrobe malfunction before my presentation), but in overall feeling, see if the situations and manifestations line up with your overall state of mind at the time. Look at more than one manifestation and watch the evidence start piling up. If you test the validity of the law, I dare say you will find it true.
Learn From My Mistake And Focus On What You Want To Create
So back to my self-created peephole, I of course felt terribly unprofessional since it was in fact a fashion styling presentation. How had I been feeling before the presentation? A little ill prepared because they wanted me to present in part on dressing for the corporate environment, which is not my shtick in the least. Yet I agreed, though felt resistant to the corporate part of the presentation. What could be any more apropos than a hole appearing in my dress at a fashion styling presentation I felt ill prepared and resistant towards? The proof is in the peephole.
Lessons Of The Law
So what is the lesson to be learned from such a debacle? First off, use every opportunity to acknowledge your power even (and perhaps especially) if it is not your finest moment. It is all learning, and serves a greater purpose. Whether the manifestation is pleasant, unpleasant or downright hilarious, you are the creator, and can begin to water more wisely. Focus on the flowers, and avoid the weeds. Especially if you have an upcoming presentation.
