When it comes to shopping for and discovering that perfect Christmas gift it can be something that is sometimes seemingly next to impossible to pull off. When it comes to the “top” Christmas gifts it is a pretty subjective list dependent on the wants and the needs of the person you are buying for. For some it will be really simple and for others it will take some thought; however, by following some of these steps you’ll be able to figure out that awesome gift for your friend, family member or acquaintance.

List It Out

Make out a list of the persons favorite hobbies. Do they have a:

• Stamp collection
• Favorite sports team
• Favorite music group or groups

These types of things will make it really easy to find something you can do within their range like:

• Getting them a new set that they don’t have already
• Find an old stamp or stamp set that they might not already have on a auction site like eBay
• Make them a compilation CD or find a CD or buy them some credits on iTunes so they can buy some songs or mixes of their favorite artist
• For their favorite sports team you could get a cutout of their favorite player, a cutout, tickets to a game, anything of that nature

If you can’t think or remember their favorites right away you should try to think of some of the conversations you’ve had and what are some of the top things that come up more than other things. Think about this and don’t stop until you have say five things so you can make a range of things to choose from.

Should you still not have that special gift you should think back to the time you’ve spent together and what your favorite memory of or with that person might be. Do you share great conversations over a cup of coffee? Love to go to the movies together? Whatever it might be and then pick something accordingly, like with the coffee a coffee gift basket or with the movies a Netflix or Blockbuster movie membership and some popcorn.

Sometimes you can just take from some self-inspiration and get them something fun. Most people love to try new things. What holiday could be better for sharing some new ideas and gifting something special?
