One of the most important things that keep a romantic relationship healthy and working is sex. Every romantic relationship needs an active and healthy sex life. Biology ensures that sexual feelings and desires towards ones partner ensure frequent and quality sex. What makes one partner lust for the other partner is the libido. The libido is the sex drive in a person. It is the need to have sex and the desire to have sex. A decreased libido, by definition, leads to less sex and also leads to unfulfilling sex. A sex act is complete when both partners are satisfied and satiated. A low libido leads to sexual encounters which are far from satisfying. A man might not be in the mood for sex for long periods of time because of his decreased libido. There are ways to increase libido and improve one’s sex life. Before discussing ways to improve libido it is important to understand the reasons for a low libido.
There are 2 main causes for low libido; physical causes and emotional or psychological causes. Physical causes can include injuries suffered which lead to damaged sex organs. Strenuous activities or sports can lead to damaged sex organs. Accidents can also result in certain injuries which prevent an active sex life. Psychological reasons which lead to a decreased libido could include depression, anxiety, guilt and stress. Anxiety to perform in the bedroom could lead to a decreased libido. When the man is preoccupied with his performance he cannot sit back and enjoy the actual act of sex. This leads to him actually losing his libido. Feelings of guilt lead a man to depression which is not ideal for his sex life. Sex is a pleasurable activity and it needs a clear head to be able to enjoy it. If the man is depressed because of something that is happening in his life, then he can never enjoy sexy fully and can never perform to his full potential. Stress in every day life does libido no favors. Stress is the biggest libido killer. Whenever a man is stressed out, the first thing that happens to him is that he loses interest in sex and is unable to perform in the bedroom. Stress could also gradually lead to the dreaded condition of impotence.
Impotence is defined as a condition when;
- The man is unable to get an erection
- The man is unable to get a complete and full erection which leaves him in a semi-flaccid state
- The man is unable to sustain his erection for a decent length of time
A low libido and a decreasing libido can eventually lead to impotence. It is important to address the causes of low libido. Smoking and drinking do not help have a healthy libido and it is important to quit both. Exercise is very important. It keeps the body fit and improves ones self-confidence, the lack of which can also cause impotence. Eliminating stress and being calm and happy mentally, usually help in having a strong and healthy libido.
