That pesty reflex to whine, gripe, complain — guess what? It’s divine. Dig beneath the bitchies and you’ll likely find a deeper desire for something that soothes your soul.
Carrie says: I’m so busy. I complain that I don’t spend enough time with my husband. When I feel this I get irritable. We both work intensely, that’s just our style, but I actually miss him terribly. Behind that is a wish to be more connected.
Danielle says: I bitch a lot about poor customer service. Restaurants. Stores. Banks. “I mean, really, basic common sense and smile, is that too much to ask?!” My wish is for people to be wide awake, fulfilled by what they’re doing.
