The Philosophy of Green Home Design
Green home design, as the name may suggest, is a kind of home design that is specifically meant to produce products made up of only renewable resources. Additionally, these products are intended to not create any adverse effects on the environment in any possible way either in the process of their being created or when they are being used to build the green homes. The green building products are mostly designed to allow the people who will use them to feel more in-touch with nature and the natural environment at large.
A green home design, otherwise known as a sustainable home design, or an environmentally –conscious home design, is as much of a philosophy as it is a practice. These designs are based on the ecological, economic, and the social principles that relate to the importance of creating sustainable buildings.
The products and materials produced through the notion of green home design are wide and far-reaching in terms of not only the size but also the usability. For example, a tote bag made using recyclable materials and which is intended to be used in place of plastic or paper bags at home or at the grocery store for packaging ensures that these products meet the philosophy of green home design.
Green home design concepts on the other hand can be used to bring about eco-friendly structures, erecting buildings like skyscrapers. Actually, the concepts can be used to plan as well as develop an entire urban area creating a global environment that will ensure the future generations benefit and lead a quality life as that being led by the current generations. Not only is the green home design concept applicable in home designs only, it can be used in landscaping architecture, constructional architecture as well as civil engineering.
Fashion designers have even gone further to borrowing a leaf from green home design concepts and philosophy and creating sustainable fashion designs made of purely renewable resources. Still on point, inside the sustainable buildings, interior designers have borrowed a leaf and now use earth-friendly wall coverings, fabrics, as well as ecologically sound flooring materials in decorating the homes.
It is due to this new craze among interior and fashion designers that the whole global environment today is full of emerging textile companies that are marketing fabrics and products entirely made of renewable resources, a concept born from the green home design philosophy. In the recent past, it has become very clear that the importance of protecting the earth and all the resources in it is key to the continuity of the progeny of tomorrow.
Studies point towards a homeless and inhabitable earth if all earth resources are depleted at such an alarming rate as it is currently. However, with the philosophy of the green home design, there is hope in a better, safe, and healthy way of life whereby products and materials used everyday, and which protect and sustain the earth and its resources, can be renewed and recycled and be reused again instead of going back to the natural resources and using them.
