The Male Libido and Impotence

Sexuality | November 27th, 2009

There is a simple correlation between the male libido and impotence. A loss of libido in a man, more often than not, leads to impotence. It is important to understand the role of libido in a romantic and sexual relationship. The libido is the sex drive. It exists in men and women. It ignites desire and need between 2 individuals and is responsible for fulfilling and satisfying sex. The libido is very important to a man. It is responsible for giving him hard and full erections, and satiating sexual encounters.

Stress and pressure in every day life sometimes rob a man of his libido. This loss of libido affects a large percentage of men. It can be a very embarrassing experience for both partners, and can also lead to a souring up of the relationship. It can completely shatter the man’s ego and self-confidence.

There are many reasons for a falling male libido. Stress is the number one cause of a lot of modern day problems, and a loss of libido is no exception. Stress and tension in life always has negative effects on the body. It leads to illness and sickness. A man suffering from stress at work or at home loses his sex drive. Increasing pressure at work, tighter deadlines, unstable markets and increased competition can all lead to a loss of libido. When a man is more preoccupied with what is going on in his life, he is not in an ideal frame of mind to enjoy the joys of sex. No one is immune to stress caused by work, family and emotional reactions or personal challenges. Coping with uncertainties, interpersonal conflicts and work life imbalance are some examples of stress which a man has to deal with every day. A man has to learn to leave his professional problems behind and not carry it home, or he will continue to lose his libido and eventually become impotent.

There are other reasons for a loss of libido. Medical conditions like cancer, hypertension and diabetes can lower a man’s libido. The male libido can also be lost because of the certain kinds of medicines taken to treat various medical conditions. These medicines have side effects, one of which is a loss of sex drive.

Injuries sustained in an accident or in a field of play can also lead to a loss of libido. Other psychological reasons like anxiety, guilt and depression lead to a loss of male libido. A change in the physical appearance in the man or in his partner can result in a loss of attraction, and that in turn can lead to a lack of interest in sex.

All of these factors can lead to a loss of libido which can lead to impotence. Impotence is a condition where; the penis cannot get an erection, cannot get a full and complete erection or cannot get an erection for any length of time.

To avoid this situation, it is important to lead a happy and balanced life. The body has to be kept healthy through regular exercise and the mind has to be kept stress and worry-free.
