The Goddess Experiment, Day 1: Flower Mandalas

I’ve had a long-held, untapped attraction to mandalas. They are, for me, a tool for transcendence, for invoking grace, a reminder of the inescapable, comforting order of the universe.

I recently came across David J. Bookbinder’s Flower Mandalas. David is a psychotherapist and photographer who believes that, “art can be a pathway to the essential Self.”

The micro majesty that he captures with his digital flora is truly awesome. I spent some time with this Rose image, this cathedral of precise beauty. I felt very moved. Teary. I noticed myself sighing. This to me says, Ruthlessly Tender Woman, Creator.

Goddess.

What is The Goddess Experiment? I’m wondering what will shift or bloom or go bust in my psyche if I very intentionally envision God in female form. For the next 21 days, including weekends, I’m going to actively re-frame He into She. His Highness into Her Highness. I’m collecting images that speak to me of God-dess.

Please join in. I may post what you send. Just to…see.
