There are various types of sports which are played today which vary in their need for energy or power. For example a weight lifter is able to lift an enormous amount of weight with his bare hands and this obviously needs powerful muscles and bones. A tennis player needs a lot of stamina and a powerful body for the intense strokes that he has to make. He needs stored up energy reserves which are essential for playing the entire game but it is not necessary for the weight lifter to perform on hours at a stretch. Hence sports nutrition is a very important part of the lives of athletes.

Healthy nutrition should be on top priority.

Junk food and food which is having excess fat should be avoided. One of the most important constituents of the muscle is glycogen, this is the source of stored up energy.
