• Carrie and Danielle

Speaking

“Carrie and Danielle lit up the room from the inside out with their professional yet authentic, hardworking and poetic, humorous and dedicated passion to sharing their work. They are the model for the next generation of women who want to write their own rules for success. In every way, these women are an inspiration.”- Carolyn Lawrence, Director, Young Women of Influence Series, The Power Point Group

We’ve been deemed “Canadian Oprahs,” and “missionaries for self expression.” That works for us. We’ve headlined conferences and lit up the screen on Entertainment Tonight Canada, E-Talk, and numerous talk shows.

We’ve never given the same talk twice, and after every gig our inboxes are filled with gratitude – which makes it all the more fulfilling. We weave our own experiences into our message. Carrie was a competitive athlete who ended up at design school. Danielle promoted some Nobel winning authors, and ran a futurist think tank in Washington, DC. Together, we landed a fat book deal, serviced over nine hundred Style Statement clients, romanced major television networks, and stood up our now-thriving Internet company in record time. We’ve got a few stories to tell.

Depending on the audience, we hit the following inspirational notes:

The virtues of being true to your self: Authenticity is energizing, economical, and efficient. Consistency is a form of power. When the various parts of your life reflect your essence, your life moves in the direction you want it to – from nourishing relationships and self-confidence, to prosperity and creative fulfillment.

The most powerful questions you can live into: What do I love, and why do I love it? From your business plan to your living room, knowing what inspires you is the critical compass for success.

Using your best every day: Cheap is expensive in the long run. Life is too short to wait for a special occasion to bring out your finery, your treasures, your brilliance, and the best of your love.

Courageous creativity: Entrepreneurs and artists eat risk for breakfast. When you give your focused attention to the best – in you and around you – things naturally flourish. And with a sharp, practical strategy, you’ll be unstoppable.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR SPEAKING GIGS

  • Q: Do you always speak as a duo?
  • A: Usually, but we do also present solo.
  • Q: How long do you speak for?
  • A: Ideally an hour, which includes some Q&A time. We also do up to two-hour presentations.
  • Q: Do you do workshops?
  • A: We occasionally work some simple-but-powerful inquiry exercises into our longer presentations. According to the group and the length of time, we can run an audience through a one or two written exercises and dialogues.
  • Q: More specifically…do you do Style Statement workshops?
  • A: We’d be game to do create a “get your Style Statement experience” for the right group. (How’s that for vague-but-promising?) If you feel you’re that right group, let us know and perhaps we could create something.
  • Q: What audio/visual equipment do you require?
  • A: Lapel mics.
  • Q: Will you share a hotel room, or take a bus to the event?
  • A: Thanks for asking. No and…no. This is where we play the diva card. We’re much too grown up to bunk together.
