Creativity can go a long way in helping you to turn the ho-hum weight loss diet into a sumptuous delight and still keep it healthy. The following list of healthy foods and little tricks will help you lose those unwanted pounds.

  1. Fruits and vegetables have a very high water content. As a result, they have far fewer calories, for their volume, which helps you to feel full longer without having to eat as much. Snacking on foods such as cucumbers, watermelon, cantaloupe and grapefruit help you to feel full, but still take in fewer calories.
  2. Pre-packing your snacks into 100 calorie servings will help you to avoid overeating when you’re snacking. Chose your snacks carefully, selecting only things that are healthy for you, pre-package them, and when those times arise, where you just want a little snack, you can feel more comfortable that you won’t over do it, which is just too easy to do.
  3. When you get that craving for something sweet, or you just want something to chew on, which can happen from boredom or habit, turn to chewing gum. Keep it handy, the sugarless variety, and it will help prevent you from relapsing to whatever else is handy.
  4. When you are bored, stressed out, or even upset, try drinking something hot. Of course, it needs to be low in calories,and preferably flavorful. By being hot, you will drink it more slowly, which helps you to enjoy it more, and to satisfy those cravings at the same time.
  5. Salsa is another neat trick. It will increase the flavor to the food, but not add radically to the number of calories.
