She Comes First: The Thinking Man’s Guide to Pleasuring a Woman

Books | November 6th, 2008 by Kerry MacLeod

When I first read about Ian Kerner I was intrigued. A hot Dad, a PhD in Clinical Sexology and a tell all, witty writer…quite a nice package. I hopped on his website and picked out a few titles I thought were interesting. He has written books geared for women, married and single, new parents and men.

The first one to appear at our library was She Comes First. Getting that call from the librarian to pick up my book on hold was a little awkward, but I bet she peeked inside…what living, woman with a pulse wouldn’t?

Coreplay

The cover is hilarious, a large photograph of a juicy passion fruit cut in half, then a sly banana peeking out in the background, love it! I spent an evening skimming his 220 pages of advice and it was good. This man knows his vajay jays. He even teaches six step by step routines in guy lingo. There are simple but effective line drawings throughout as well. Did you know the clitoris has eighteen parts? I didn’t. According to this enlightened specimen of sexual know how oral sex shouldn’t be considered foreplay, but rather coreplay. He teaches the reader that oral sex is the best way to lead a woman though the entire sexual response.

I was drawn to learning more about Ian and what made him so passionate about sharing his tried and true methods. In his bio he expressed the belief that a lot of men’s problems with satisfying women and premature ejaculation stem from poor childhood masturbation habits and not being taught openly about it. Boys tend to masturbate quickly and secretly setting them up with difficult sexual habits. Having three boys that is very interesting to me…Not something I really want to deal with right now but nonetheless an important thing to talk about with my little men when the time comes.

Dr. Kerner wants everyone to learn his techniques and has a strong argument for any hesitant guys out there: Lest you think the importance of such courtesy is over-exaggerated, simply recall Lorena Bobbitt who, when questioned by police as to why she cut off her husband’s penis, responded, “He always has an orgasm and doesn’t wait for me. It’s unfair.”

I left this gem sitting on my guy’s night stand but it still sits unopened. He is currently rebelling against the endless stacks of books I place there for him to read. Hubbie enjoys his boring old spy novels and cycling magazines. I will be patient and wait till he finds this one, it’s worth the wait.

Buy the book…you’ll be happy you did.
