Picking Wedding Shoes
Wedding shoes are available in a large range of styles and shoe shapes. I have listed the most sort after styles below with their advantages and disadvantages so you know what to keep in mind when you are looking.
Sling Back – One of the most traditional wedding shoe styles but they are not without their problems. They key to wearing sling backs on your wedding day is all down to the fit. Wearing a large wedding dress will make it very hard just to slip the strap back over your ankle if it is to loose or letting it out again if it’s cutting into your ankle. If your heart is set on wearing sling backs you can purchase a clear grip pad that fits on to the strap to keep it in position.
Court – Another traditional wedding shoe style. These full wedding shoes can be deceiving as far as heel heights are concerned. Make sure your have a good walk around in these shoes they can pinch and cause heel blisters. Gel pads are now available for your heel. These see through pads placed behind the heel will improve the fit and will not allow your heel to become rubbed and sore.
Halter back – The perfect solution to sling back shoes. The halter back wedding shoes have an extra strap that allows you to have the ankle strap looser with out it falling off your foot. These beautiful styles still look like your classic sling back design wedding shoes.
Flat pump – Trainer wearing women’s answer to the wedding shoe. These wedding shoes are now just as beautiful as the traditional shoes only they have a flat heel. If you do not want to stand taller than your groom or you are getting married on a beach these will be your ideal choice.
Peep toe – Not for the faint hearted but they are the most glamorous wedding shoes available. The peep toe wedding shoes come with very high heels and the gravity can sometimes make your toes appear a funny color. Make sure the fit is perfect for these shoes and it is also worth considering buying a second pair of lower heels for your reception.
Sandal – The perfect summer wedding shoes. The straps can sometimes be a problem so make sure they fit tightly around your foot, a loose sandal can cause you to be unbalanced and trip over.
Wedding shoes are not normally at the top of a bride’s shopping list. This is primarily because they are among the least noticed wedding accessories during the wedding, but they actually can be one of the most essential parts of your bridal outfit. From a comfort position they’re certainly an important detail that should not be ignored.
