Getting your acne skin care product is a difficult job, not because there aren’t any on the contrary they are too much to choose from and of course each one differs from the other in mechanism, expense, ingredients and the duration of therapy. The most popular types are Oral treatments, topical ointments, hormone therapies, surgical procedures and home-based formulas. All of them fight pimples but each in a different way.

  1. Natural remedies. Fighting the battle from the inside, these types of products work from the inside of the human body, the organic ingredients reacts with the blood stream to adjust the nutritional imbalance improve the over health resulting in the disappear of pimples and acne.
  2. Hormone therapies. Scientifically proved that acne main reason to appear is the change of hormones with youth in the teenage period, therefore the hormone therapy focuses on controlling the androgen levels especially in women to control the skin’s production of sebum which will eventually produce acne.
  3. Antibacterials. This type of product tries killing the main cause of bacteria that makes acne, also known as Propionibacterium, it simple attacks the cause of pus which produces later acne, it attacks the microorganisms in the skin.
  4. Formulas that prevent pore blockage. They act like skin modifier, this type of products simply block pores preventing dead skin cells from reforming again in these pores creating acne.
  5. Anti-inflammatory drugs. Found usually in the form of cream, gel or lotion, once applied to infected area it works on reducing bumps size and finishes pimples. Sometime these drugs are mixed with other types to create a more effective final product according to the case severity.
  6. Preventive cures. A more defensive action where these products fight acne before the show in the beginning, they protect and provide a gentle smooth skin with no place for pimples or acne. For example people with oily skin need something to reduce the amount of oil in their skin and keep the skin dry, on the opposite hand, people with dry skin will be advised with moisturizers to keep skin wet and gentle and therefore no acne is found.

As you noticed, every single product fights acne in it’s own way; some focus on the cause and some focus on preventing the cause itself, therefore the best way to decide what suits you the most is a doctor’s advice.
