Living in the moment when you can see the end. Patti is the author of the just-released, Life Is A Verb: 37 Days to Wake Up, Be Mindful, and Live Intentionally. She is our kind of seeker.

Carrie says: I would ask a daily question to each of my loved ones and film it. Thirty Seven Days of Loving and Learning, a Documentary.

Danielle says: I’d book a flight to Southern France with my man and kid. I’d write letters to everyone in my life thanking them, blessing them, worshiping them. I’d meditate and dance and eat chocolate and cheese (for breakfast) and hang out outside at night naked. I’d start lighting a lot of white hot fires.

Patti says: Five years ago, I started asking myself a question every morning when I woke up: “What would you be doing today if you only had 37 days to live?” The question came to me when I watched my stepfather die 37 days after his cancer diagnosis. What emerged from asking that question is a big understanding that by the time I reach my last 37 days it will be too late to live the life I wanted. That I need to live it now, each day. That I needed to live a life that was so rich and true to who I am that when I reach my last 37 days, I wouldn’t change a thing. What also emerged was a true understanding of priorities, those human survival units who will be there with me at my bedside when I’m dying. The question shifted my focus and made me say yes, be generous, love more, speak up, trust myself and slow down. How about you? What would you do with your last 37 days?
