Options for an Impotent man

Sexuality | November 27th, 2009

When a man gets impotent, his entire life starts to change. He has to deal with more than just his impotence. He is in constant fear of being ostracized from his circle of friends and acquaintances.  He fears rejection from his partner. He loses all of his self confidence and his self esteem. He is shamed by feelings of inadequacy and guilt. He goes in to a deep state of depression. His entire world comes crashing down on him. His lack of, and loss of libido, start to haunt him.

A man who is impotent cannot do one of three things;

  • He cannot get an erection
  • He cannot get an erection for a long enough time
  • He cannot get a full and complete erection

If he is suffering from any one of these conditions, he has become impotent. There are many causes for this impotence. A gradual decline of sex drive and a gradual loss of libido lead to impotence. Excessive stress in a man’s life is the primary reason for a declining libido which leads to him getting impotent. Stress and pressure at work and home, in various forms all lead to a lack of interest in sex. A faster pace of life has meant that there is very little quality time left for a couple to enjoy and savor. If, for a prolonged period of time, a man cannot reignite his desire to have sex, it can very easily turn him impotent. That is why it is very important to address this situation when it arises.

Injuries can make a man lose interest in sex. A loss of libido could be because of an accident which has damaged his sex organs. Illnesses and diseases like cancer, hypertension and diabetes can all lower a libido in a man. Medicines taken to fight these diseases also contribute towards a lowered libido.

A lack of self-confidence and a lack of self-worth can slowly eat away at a man’s desire to have sex. If a man is not confident about his looks or his appearance, then he starts to have doubts about whether his woman finds him attractive enough. It is important for the man to feel good and to like his own body.

What can also lead to a loss of libido is if the man is in a state of depression for any length of time. A loss of a job or the loss of a loved one, can lead to a state of depression for a man that finds difficult to combat and get out of. This can destroy his sex drive and can make him impotent over a period of time.

Once a problem has been identified it is very important to deal with it in the quickest amount of time. Professional help is the best possible help. A doctor, or a specialist should be consulted and treatment should be begun as soon as the symptoms are obvious.

To avoid and minimize chances of getting affected by this condition, men should always look after their bodies and stay healthy with constant exercise.
