Nature has many secrets. And, we are yet to be able to uncover many of nature’s secrets. But, we know a large number of secrets already and we are in the position to make the best use of them to enhance our experience of living. One of nature’s secret is aphrodisiacs. Aphrodisiacs are foods available in nature that can increase male stamina, heighten sexual pleasure as well as enhance both male and female orgasm.

The secret of aphrodisiacs has been known to many cultures for centuries. Cultures that are ancient like India and China even have medical treatises dedicated to the use of aphrodisiacs. Many other cultures have rituals and traditions that have their basis in the use of aphrodisiacs. For instance, until about the nineteenth century, French prenuptial cuisine consisted of 3 courses made with asparagus, since asparagus is considered an aphrodisiac that enhances both male and female orgasm.

There are many other known instances of aphrodisiacs in our common history. For instance, Cleopatra was known to favor figs which are considered aphrodisiacs for females. Not only is their shape and texture sexually provocative to the female, it also has nutrients to enhance female libido. On the other hand, anyone who is familiar with the legend of Delilah and Samson know the role almonds played in their courtship. Almonds are also considered aphrodisiacs as well as fertility symbols. In fact, the lore of almonds was so great that novelist Alexander Dumas took to having almond soup before meeting with any one of his many mistresses.

The role of oysters as aphrodisiacs is also well publicized. Rumor has it that the secret to Casanova’s sexual exploits was that he consumed 50 live oysters every day. Oysters are considered especially great for enhancing male stamina. They also increase the production of testosterone as well as increase sperm count. This increases the virility in men, and hence increases their sexual libido. They also induce a sense of well being and make a person feel relaxed. This helps put people in the right mood for an exciting sexual encounter.

Chocolate is also well known as an aphrodisiac around the world. The creamy texture of melted chocolate and its sweet smell are enough to arouse sexual excitement, especially in women. But, more than that, consuming chocolate also enhances one’s feeling of happiness and well being as eating chocolate induces the brain to produce feel-good hormones, serotonin. Sex had with such a sense of well being is sure to be titillating and satisfying.

The egg has also been considered a fertility symbol in many cultures across the world. This is because the egg contains nutrients that fight depression, induce a sense of well being as well as provide energy for sexual activity. You need not just restrict yourself to chicken eggs. Consider using quail eggs or something more exotic like caviar to set the right mood for sex. Just feeling the salty fish eggs burst in your mouth is enough to create sexual excitement.
