Lymphatic Massage
Lymphatic massage is a massage specific to help increase the lymph flow of the lymphatic system. When you have increased flow it helps to remove toxins from the tissues and also works to increase our immune function.
It can be helpful in the cases of injury, edemas, those having energy troubles, or for people that have or are experiencing a lethargic immune system. Bodily problems; such as, aches, soreness, flu like symptoms and pains can all be indicative of a congested lymph pathway. This system is critical in our bodies’ ability to heal itself and stave off disease filtering out both toxins and bacteria.
Benefits of Lymphatic Massage
When a lymphatic massage is performed correction it will stimulate the opening of the first lymphatic and by doing that it will increase volume amount of lymph flow by up to 20 xs. It will help to unblock the lymph system with the manually cleansing. The lymph is responsible for cleansing just about every cell in your body so the harmful effects of a continual blockage are:
- Frequent colds and flu
- Joint pains
- Headaches or migraines
- Arthritis
- Fatigue
- Irregularities in mood
- Cellulite
- Acne
- Depression
Our lymphatic system is dependent on our muscle contractions through things like deep breathing, exercise and manual manipulation in order to move the fluid around.
When getting a lymphatic massage it’s utilized by a very light pressure in combination with soft pumping movements going into the direction of the lymph nodes. Since the lymphatic system has no “central pump” this part of the process is crucial to getting things back in working order. Our immune systems functions can be increased in a significant manner improving many things; such as, metabolism and helping our body to rid itself of waste and toxins. Having a strong immune system will help us feel more balanced and make us happier in our daily lives.
Safety
For the most part lymphatic massage is very safe. You’ll want to make sure to seek out someone who is suitably trained and qualified and don’t be afraid to ask for credentials. It’s a good play to know who is going to be working on your body. Any therapist that is a reputable one will be more than happy to show you credentials, certifications, etc… If the therapy is not right for you a reputable therapist will tell you that it isn’t.
If you have swollen lymph nodes or other serious medical conditions you should seek the support of a doctor not a massage therapist. While the massage is very gentle in general there can be some problems due to the fact it can make some medical conditions worse. Speak with your doctor before you make an appointment for this type of massage.
