There is no one rule when it comes to choosing a “correct” wine glass; however when you do choose the right glass for that specific wine you can enhance your satisfaction of the wine greatly. You can use some of these tips and of course your own personal taste to choose the wine glass that’s going to be the best for you.

Choosing Large Wine Glasses

When it comes to a red wine you’re going to want to go for a wider and bowl shaped glass. One of the best parts about the red wine is the aroma that can come from it. If you get the larger glass that has the bigger mouth it will enable you to be able to capture and take in all of these aromas.

The same is going to go for an aged red wine. The aged red wine has even more complex aromas. You should keep in mind that a red wine that is not aged should still be served in a large wine glass; however, the opening can be a little narrower with the non-aged if you should so prefer. Basically up to your personal preference on both instances but if you’re paying for an aged wine you should try to get everything from it that it has to offer.

When you serve the wine in a larger glass your company will have plenty of wine that they can enjoy through the entire meal as another benefit. If you’re serving different types of wine; such as, a white wine you’ll want to use a smaller glass but when you’re serving a red wine you’ll definitely want to go for the larger glass. If you haven’t tried your red wines with the larger glass do so and you’ll understand the difference and never go back the other way.
