Large Wine Glasses, Making a Cheap Bottle of Wine Tastes Expensive
Large wine glasses can help you to make your cheaper bottle of wine taste like you spent a fortune on it. There are some additional tips to make your wine taste even that much better but the first key is the right glass.
Using a larger and round goblet glass that has an extra wide rim is the type of glass you need to use. The effect is that these glasses are going to feel special as well as adding an impact psychologically of the red wine that is soon to come.
By using the larger glass with the wide rim allows even more of the flavor and aroma to be released. With the larger glass the flavors are going to burst into your mouth immediately as they touch your lips.
In order to get the most out of your wine there are a few more things that you should do:
- Decant your wine
- Warm the glasses
- Add salty snacks
Decant the Wine
You’ll want to take the bottle of red wine you’ll be serving and decant it for some hours before you plan on serving it. You’re going to want to leave it out just at room temperature with the most ideal temperature being 62-65 degrees.
If you have concerns about leaving the bottle uncovered you should feel free to put a piece of netting over the bottles opening. The netting is important rather than using something else as the wine still needs to be able to breathe.
Warm the Glasses
Warming the glasses is something that is very easy to do and you want to do it especially if the glasses feel cold. You can warm the glasses by simply running them under hot water for just a few seconds then you’ll want to dry them completely.
It’s important to keep your glasses just like your wine, at room temperature or even slightly above. If the glass is slightly above room temperature it will accentuate the wine within them even that much more. It is not necessary to keep the glasses above room temperature, just at room temperature.
Add Salty Snacks
You’ll want to have some salty snacks available if you’re not severing the wine for dinner specifically. Some examples will include:
- Aged cheeses and crackers
- Salty ham slivers
If you’re serving the wine with dinner you can have these has a pre meal snack.
