		<description>Yes - I agree Michelle - it is most certainly biological.  This is why they are incapable of changing or even acknowledging that there is a problem.  Even when family who is close to them cut them out of their lives or move away - they still don&#039;t see where they were in the wrong. (Or they do admit it - but only for the sake of giving the appearance of remorse in order to manipulate.)

I am a survivor of a mother with NPD. It has been the most freeing thing to finally know that it&#039;s NOT ME - but my mother who has a mental disorder in NPD that was causing all the grief.  Finally - I am free!!</description>

According to psychologists, narcissism is either potentially psychodynamic and/or biological. Psychologists do not believe that NPD (or any personality disorders) are the result of learned behaviors. They now have proof of organic brain dysfunction in similar PDs.

There&#039;s a lot of information out there. If you have a narcissistic mother, I can highly recommend reading the books on this list, and this website as well:
