Is it Time to heal your Mind Body Spirit?

Do you feel sick or run down? Do you experience bouts of sadness or depression? Do you feel life isn’t worth living? Then you are not alone. The challenges of today’s world; the polluted environment we live in; short term relationships and broken homes; all these factors make our lives so difficult to cope with. And call for comprehensive healing of the mind body spirit.

We live in turbulent times, fraught with financial uncertainty, professional insecurity, emotional and physical trauma. The world today is rife with economic instability, political chaos and international terrorism; not to mention floods, droughts and Tsunami’s. We are buffeted by the winds of change and we don’t know how to cope. We are all reaching out for help. But who are we reaching out to? Isn’t every one else also in the same boat? Isn’t every one else just as bewildered by the demands of this world we live in?

Our minds, bodies and spirits have obviously been affected by all that we have experienced. We are emotionally, physically and spiritually bruised, and a great deal of healing is required. And the best way to commence the healing process is with inner healing. When healing begins internally, it manifests itself in all areas of our lives. Inner healing acts as a balm and heals us spiritually. It makes us healed, whole and complete. We feel centered and grounded. Our chakras (the energy centers in our bodies) and aura’s are cleansed and energized, and our health improves.

When inner healing leads to outer healing, we are better able to withstand the pressures of our daily lives, mentally, physically and spiritually. We can meet the challenges of life with calm and equanimity. Inner work can help us to enhance our strengths and minimize our weaknesses. This in turn helps in developing good health and the removal of physical ailments.

One of the most effective techniques to achieve a healthy mind, body and spirit, is meditation. Practiced for centuries in India and other Asian countries such as Japan, meditation is now acknowledged as one of the most popular healing techniques worldwide today.

Under the guidance of an experienced practitioner, meditation can be taught to benefit us in multiple ways. It requires patience, discipline and rigorous practice over a period of time to be truly effective. It is a holistic healing technique and is an integral part of practices such as Yoga, Reiki and Pranic Healing, among others.

Meditation calls for focus and concentration. These are common to all the different types of meditation. You can meditate sitting down, lying down, or even standing. Or you can chant mantras to help keep you focused, or even stare into a candle flame. There are innumerable techniques leading to multiple benefits.

If you decide to practice meditation regularly, you can be assured of long term benefits to your mind, body and soul. You will experience serenity and peace of mind that will stand you in good stead for the rest of your life.
