Obesity and over weight are serious issues today. The most important factor here is that the most popular foods that we eat today is unhealthy and help in putting on weight. There are a lot of people who are obese. Most of them are suffering from illnesses due to obesity. Some of them include heart diseases and high blood pressure. These are some of the serious effects of obesity. Some of the milder yet effective effects include premature wearing down of the bones and muscle problems. All these are increased by the fact that weight makes us look unattractive. The human body is basically designed in perfect proportions, our lifestyles and food habits have changed all that. The number of people who are slim and healthy is very less. This is a very dangerous trend as obesity has been classified as an illness or a disorder. The cardinal rule that we need to follow is weight control.

The food that we eat needs to be our top priority. The biggest problem which we are facing is the influence of fast food. This has a very intense and serious effect on our health. Fast food is very unhealthy and dangerous. There are various additives and added flavours which give it the taste and texture. These are harmful to our body, on various levels. It not only hastens the process of increasing the fat content in the body, it is also said to be the trigger for cancer. These are enough to make us stay away from them. But we do not know that there so many risks involved with having fast food. The predominant ingredient of fast food is cholesterol. This is the number one cause for high blood pressure. We all know that high blood pressure is a killer. So fast food is one of the most harmful aspects of our diet. Weight gain is a very serious problem if it is not controlled properly. There are many individuals who have been affected adversely due to an uncontrolled increase in weight. The main things we need to do is to try and control the diets. This is not as easy as it looks like. The main problem lies in the various foods that we eat. It is safe to say that we are slaves of our taste buds. If this changes then we can bring about the necessary changes to the diet.

A healthy diet can do wonders to the body. Weight reduction can be also done by eating food which is lean and healthy. The nutritional content of the food also should be considered before consuming it. Along with the quantity, the quality of the food should also be good. Now we only concentrate on the quantity which is not good. This is the main reason for the increase in weight. The healthy diet should be a well rounded one which is balanced with various types of food products. This will ensure that we get all the required nutrients in ample amounts.
