I wish my other car was a Porsche 356 Speedster
What is your dream car?
This is one of our Style Statement questions.
Some people know immediately: a red convertible Mini Cooper, a Hybrid Prius or any car as long as it gets them from point A to point B. As for me I like elegant cars, a convertible sports car please! And more than any other car, the Porsche 356 Speedster embodies my Style Statment: Refined Treasure. Sadly Britney Spears apparently shares my taste in cars, and while I haven’t done her Style Statement, Refined Treasure doesn’t feel like it rings true for her.
Recently, Danielle yelled from her desk, ”Hurry Carrie, your dream car is parked outside”. She was right! Thank you to the cute red-headed guy who graciously permitted me to sit in my dream car and be photographed.

OK, my absolute favourite question… For me it’s hands down the Maserati 5000GT, of which only 33 were made, each one customized for its owner. And those owners included the Shah of Iran and the Aga Khan, among others…

I’m glad you were able to sit in your “dream car.” The 356 is a fantastic car. If you can’t afford an original, there are some great kits available.
I’m running a story right now on a friend’s experience with their first Porsche (and yes, it’s a 356.)
As for my dream car, I’m fortunate enough to own it. It’s a 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 4S (the last of the air-cooled.)

Carrie, this is a spectacular car! Nice choice. Love the colour too! I would definately get one of these if #1. it was fuel efficient and #2. I had the money. Reminds me of the convertibles your parents had way back when….you look at home in it.

I love the 993 — by far the best of all the 911s. And the C4s is the best of all 993s. Great choice.

What I really yearn for is a Cervelo P2C triathlon bike! It might be hard to beat the Hollywood classic look of your dream Porche but I think that the Tesla Electric Roadster looks like a great car that capitalizes on new green technologies. It will be interesting to see how car design will be influenced by environmental considerations in the future.

Ooooo….my dream car is the 2008 Jaguar XKR Convertible, blue with tan interior. Sexy, elegant, and expensive. Hmmm….is that what it says about me? I can live with that. *wink*

Nice car but is not a speedster. It is either a replica or a porsche 356 conv d. The convertible D had a speedster body with a taller windscreen and roll up windows. It has speedster on the side so I assume its a replica. I too am partial to the Porsche speedste

Porsche 356 Speedster is a style statement. It was a craze of its time, and also for this time as a vintage car.

That car in the picture is really nice. My dream car would be Eleanor. The Shelby Mustang from gone in 60 secs. That car is amazing.
