How do you fall in love with the world?

Q&A | July 18th, 2008 No comments

Magical things always happen in a Style Statement session. Like this fabulous conversation that began with Life Coach, Jamie Ridler. She is the inspiration for today’s delicious question about ENGAGING with life and keeping the love affair with the world around you going strong.

Carrie says: Seeing art. Feeling fabrics. Eating fresh food. Touching cashmere. Smelling nature after the rain. I fall in love through my senses! My senses lead me to love.

Danielle says: I fall in love when I focus on really relating, when I intentionally connect. I talk to little kids as much as possible. I look people in the eye. I say thank you every chance I get.

Meditation Jamie says: Paintings, novels, music, sculpture, art encounters of all kinds, invite me to fall in love with the world’s possibilities and its beauty. Dancing in particular, whether it is in the living room with my husband or at Nia class, allows me a direct connection with the divine. When I open myself to experiencing the moment, I realize that every encounter with the world, from buying a coffee to weeding my garden, can be an act of falling in love.

When I’m rushed, distracted, tired, numbed out, overextended, I’m not available for a meaningful relationship, including one with the world. But when I’m present and can fully embrace the moment, that’s when I fall in love. For me, that means getting out of my head and into my body. It means taking the time to see, hear, smell, touch and taste the world around me. That’s why Sensual Radiance is the right Style Statement for me! By savouring my breakfast, I fall in love with the deliciousness of the world.
