In these economic turbulent times, it can be extremely difficult to have a large budget for anything, even wedding gifts for those near and dear to us. But that is no reason to worry, you can still muster up some unique wedding gifts for the newlywed couples that will be appreciated and cherished by them for a long time to come. Here are some great wedding gift ideas that won’t cost you a fortune:

Have you considered writing a poem or getting one written for the special couple that is soon to walk down the aisle? Well, you can have a lovely poem written for them on a high quality handmade paper. Then all you have to do is attach a photo of the couple from their wedding day and get the poem and the photo framed in an elegant frame. To add an even more special touch, you may even want to personalize the frame by getting the names of the couple and their wedding date engraved on it. A gift like this is sure to be a favorite wedding gift received by the couple.

You can get a few forget-me-nots and dry them between the pages of a heavy book. Once you have the dried flowers ready, paste them on a handmade paper and attach a photo of the couple on the wedding day, along with a special quote or a small verse. Get this framed in an elegant frame and Viola! One of the most unique wedding gifts is ready.

You can get a ceramic platter and a number of different colored ceramic markers. All you have to do is write a short message to the couple along with their names and dates. If they are getting any message engraved on their wedding rings, then you may want to add that on the platter as well. And, if you do make a mistake, there is no need to worry. Just use a moist tissue paper and get rid of the mistake. Once the platter is decorated to your satisfaction, just bake it in the oven for about half an hour. This will make the writing with the markers permanent. What an incredible wedding gift that would make! It is sure to become a centerpiece in the new home of the newlyweds.

On the other hand, you can use the same idea of the ceramic platter to get close friends and family member so of the couple to jot down their messages and then bake the platter. It will certainly make for a very cherished gift as it carries the good will and wishes from some of the most treasured people to the couple.

Another favorite wedding gift would be the same idea as the signature platter, but transposed on a high quality handmade paper. Just get the close family and friends to jot down their wishes on the paper, add a wedding photo and get it framed elegantly.
