Today is the official publication date of STYLE STATEMENT! It feels like a birthday ‘round here. Carrie brought me a whopping bouquet of red Birds of Paradise. The phone is ringing with sweet congratulations. And we just autographed our first book for a studio neighbour! That felt good. Each book is like a seed…that we hope each reader will turn into a blossom.

Two years ago about this time we just moved into our new work space and were up late with beer and chocolate bars and cranky/devoted husbands, painting over the gunmetal grey walls with white paint…coat after coat of white paint. Now those walls are covered with art work from the book and screen shots of the new site and 100’s of little yellow sticky notes (we like the small square ones). And what was airy and zen is now a packed work space of good people and dying and living laptops.

Just received an email from a reader who “sat with the book for four hours” and created her Style Statement…and it “feels real.”

Today feels like flowers.
