Feels Like Home: 3 Questions For Creating An Intentional Living Space

Design, Home, Home & Garden | September 22nd, 2008 1 Comment

Designing. Shopping. Decorating. When it comes to creating our homes, for most of us, the primary focus is the look of it – and understandably so, our living space is a hugely visual experience.

But try these concepts on for size: Intention. Expression. Feeling.

Living by your own design begins with a feeling and results in a look. Being authentic may mean that you follow tradition, or that you color outside the lines. Most every time, authenticity is simply what feels good to you.

3 Questions For Creating An Intentional Living Space

Whether you’re living in a mansion or a one-room flat, ask yourself:

  1. What is the intention of my home? [Shelter, play, healing, inspiration, comfort, motivation?]
  2. What do I want to express through my home? [Passion, values, knowledge, creativity, legacy?]
  3. How do I want my living space to feel? [Like a sanctuary or a resort? Luxurious, quaint, impressive, private, special?]

Our wish for you is that your home fits the shape of your heart.
