I signed up for the Landmark Forum. I kinda knew it was going to happen. My boyfriend’s done it, his whole family’s done it, my boss has done it. I couldn’t help myself! The pitch was so good! The presenter was so passionate and relatable! I had my pen poised to sign on the dotted line before he even got to the “here’s-why-you-should-sign-up” conclusion of his 3-hour, anecdote-packed, interactive presentation.
What really got me was the 4-steps to a “break through” exercise. It went something like this:
- Identify something that’s holding you back (my “not good enough” thang),
- What are the “payoffs” (I feel justified based on my past experiences, get to stay in my comfort zone),
- What does it “cost” me (fulfilling my awesome and amazing potential) and
- If you no longer had that “issue”, what does life look like? (let’s see: a wicked career that fulfills my desire to help and inspire others [with ridiculous cash flow of course], a little cob house island get-away for art and music making, boundless generosity with friends, loved ones and total strangers).
The end of step 4 really got the room jazzed, shiny happy visions of “unlimited possibility” dancing around in our heads.
The presentation went on with concepts about accessing “blind spots” and the “past living in the future“, and even more great stories of transformation. I was just riveted! My face clearly said: You needn’t say more, dear presenter, for I am picking up what you are putting down. “Banish stupid and limiting insecurities” has been on my to-do list for ages and I’m looking forward to checking that box off finally.
I can’t wait to dive into the 3-day program that will no doubt make a lingo-slinging, Landmark-pushing, sky’s-the-limit follower out of me.
Post-workshop post coming in October…
