Children Nutrition: Starting Early
We see that many people suffer from illnesses which are serious. These are mostly physiological problems caused due to the various imbalances which are happening in our life. The effect of the food that we eat is very high. Obesity is the problem in question. We see that many young people suffer from obesity. This is a worrying sign. When a young person suffers from obesity the effects are very much different from those of an elderly person. Actually when a person grows old, he naturally tends to put on weight. This is not uncommon. The most serious problem is juvenile obesity. This is highly prevalent in today’s time. Children nutrition is a very sensitive thing. We need to concentrate very much on this. It is important to inculcate a healthy attitude towards food right from a very young age.
Children are easy to mould from a young age. They will follow the guidelines which are laid down. The onus is on us to lead them in the right direction. Diet and nutrition need to be understood properly to make the most of it. Eating habits of children change as they progress. They need more and more food and this makes things a little more difficult. It is very easy to lose track of their eating habits. From a young age if a child is taught about the nutritional facts about food, he will have a better understanding of the food that he is eating. This goes a long way in helping him realize that good food means good health. It is generally seen that obese kids have obese parents. Diet and nutrition are not very serious factors in these families and it shows in their waist lines. If the parents do not play and active role in the development of their children then there is little hope. Leading by example is a very strong tool. Parents should strive to keep themselves healthy. This will motivate the children to follow in their foot steps. The dangers of over eating are also to be understood. We should help the children to realize that food is not just for filling stomachs. They play many other roles.
The importance of fitness also needs to be asserted. Leading a good and healthy life requires some amount of perseverance. There are various negative influences such as fast food on our diet. This is the single biggest danger to the diet of a young child. If he is continually exposed to fast food, then his eating habits will take a severe beating. Obesity has been classified as an illness, and it needs to be controlled as one. It needs to be shown the same amount of seriousness as is with any other health problem we may encounter. The best way to do this is to start young. Children; if they are informed at a young age about the effects of obesity on their health and life, they will be better prepared to tackle issues whenever they happen.
