What people are saying about Style Statement.

Carrie and Danielle Down Under

“Firstly thank-you for an amazing site, I was connected to it by THE GLAM CAFE. I really like the wise place you both come from and the thought provoking questions. Already the question about being photographed as the real me has made such a profound change in my thinking….. For the last 10 years it has been my number one intent to be in my power and live my own truth and to really connect with ALL of who I am. To live simply and joyously with balance. I love being inspired, living in joy and defying my limiting beliefs. I too am an avid fan of ABRAHAM-HICKS (who are visiting Melbourne this year I have my ticket!)

Love to both of you across the seas”

Lea Ann’s Letter to Oprah

Style Statement Reviews | June 6th, 2008 by Karryn Ransom | Comments | Leave a comment

I’d love to see Carrie & Danielle, authors of the book Style Statement, on your show.

Style StatementI am a people pleaser who struggled in all areas of life to be all to everyone: I dressed to meet others’ expectations, I had more clutter and items in my apartment because others are not comfortable with a spare, simple look. I spent my whole life - until now - trying to “be” for others.

No longer. I read Style Statement two weeks ago and enjoyed the personal stories of people who had articulated their own style statement. I was looking for my word that would define 80% of who I was. I found it. “Simple” would define 80% of who I am. Merely reading the story of the person who is also “simple” brought this feeling of peace inside me…a feeling of “I’m home now”.

The key words that define “Simple” resonated inside me…and affected every area of my life. I continue to journal to figure out the word that will define 20% of me… I have an idea what it is, but need to journal to figure it out. It’ll come in time.

I now dress, live, work, decorate and relate to people - as myself. I am decluttering my apartment and clearing spaces so that I have empty room in the apartment to allow breathing room for me.

I am wearing a uniform this summer of black, white, gray and sky blue - with some sparkly accessories - because that’s me. (I don’t mind getting flack from others because I’m wearing black. They can dress however they’d like to. I’m dressing for me.)

I have a newfound confidence in myself..that others cannot give me..but Carrie & Danielle provided for me via their book Style Statement.

I do not have the funds to meet with Carrie & Danielle, but if they were on your show, I’d have a glimpse into what they do and I could perhaps glean some insight from them.

Please have them on your show. They’ve changed my life..and could change the lives of others.

Thank you!

Lea Ann

Style Statement: Exciting and Inspiring

Style Statement Reviews | June 4th, 2008 by Karryn Ransom | Comments | Leave a comment

Although I’m not yet done reading and working through the exercises, I am thoroughly enjoying the inquiry process and learning things about me I wasn’t aware of. The colorful format and beautiful layout is exciting and inspiring. The book begs to be a book club book for women, or done with a group of friends. I’m having a blast and I look forward to sharing it with friends. - Lisa Olsen

C&D’s Letter to Oprah

Style Statement Reviews | June 2nd, 2008 by Danielle LaPorte | Comments | Leave a comment

We’re doing our most charming-est, law of attraction outreach to Oprah. There have been signs of life reciprocated. Producers called us for “more information” (they’re now on filming hiatus ’til August,) and a few folks who emailed in show ideas about us have heard back with more questions. Oprah, Gayle, if you’re listening, we’d be happy to fly to your summer getaway to do your Style Statement. Hawaii, Chicago, South Africa…your new SOUL SERIES...would love to jam on the power of authenticity.

Thought you might like a peek at the first letter we sent to Ms. Winfrey:

Feminine Richness

Style Statement Reviews | May 30th, 2008 by Danielle LaPorte | Comments | Leave a comment

Hi Danielle,
I am very grateful to you and Carrie for writing Style Statement. Your book has enabled me to discover at a gut level that I am complete at my core and do not need to strive any longer to become a self–because I am Feminine Richness.

My words for 2008 are Relaxed Sensual, which give me permission to be Relaxed in mind and body along w/ being Sensual in taking care of my needs  and noticing and creating beauty–especially when I am in challenging situations.  My mantra  then becomes Feminine Relaxed Sensual Richness.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth

…….
Dearest Elizabeth,
Feminine Richness… (My mom’s Style Statement is Feminine Quality, I think you’d get along very well.) I’m envisioning cashmere, amazing intuition and dreams, strength, deep listening, bounties of flowers.

1000 warm wishes,
Danielle
