Budget Planner, Making a Budget Worksheet Template to Help With Monthly Bills
A budget planner is something that is helpful in keeping track of your monthly bills and through making your budget using a template from a program like Excel is a great way to get on track. Your budget template is going to be so versatile for you tracking so many things on one worksheet including:
- Paying bills
- Organizing
- Tracking monthly finances
The first thing that you want to do is get a template online or you can create one through Microsoft Excel. If you don’t have Excel you can download Open Office for free from http://www.openoffice.org to help you with your monthly bills. After you do this you’ll need to decide on a schedule depending on how you pay your bills, whether it is weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.
You can consider setting your budget worksheet up so you can by your bills either by their due dates or you can simply lump them together a couple times per month dependent on how you get paid.
After this you’re going to want to list out all the money that you earn per month. This is going to include your weekly paycheck or other types of income like:
- Bonuses
- Investment income
- Any other family income
Any type of income you want to be sure to list as this is going to be for your benefit to keep everything on there.
Finally you’ll want to type in any monthly bills on your worksheet and put them in by due day as well as priority. Starting with the must pay bills and listing out by due day is probably the best way for you to go. You’re going to also have to list the following things and fit them into the worksheet on the best time of month to purchase/pay them:
- Groceries
- Utilities
- Supplies
- Gas
- More
Finally you’ll make a two column heading at the top of your worksheet with the labels, Projected Monthly and Actual Monthly. You’ll enter all of your monthly bills into the Projected Monthly and then you’ll subtract your income to get the balance.
The final thing for you to do is to make adjustments to your worksheet template wherever necessary before finally entering the final true monthly bills into the Actual Monthly. After making your budget you’re well on your way. The key thing now is to make sure that you make it work to your advantage and that takes updating it and using it.
