Budget Planner, Budgeting Without Using a Computer
Normally when thinking about your budget planner you think of creating your plan on the computer. Well technology is definitely not for everyone so the following is some simple steps to get you on the road to a budgeted life, still leaving some room for fun!, and doing so without having to use modern technology.
So like the right above stated we’ll go through this the old fashioned way so grab a blank notebook, your pen and a calculator and follow the following extremely easy steps:
- On your first page you’re going to write down all of the things that you need to budget for during the month. These are not for any spending like groceries and gas; these are just monthly expenses for this page. An example of these would be your rent/mortgage, utilities, phone, cable, internet, etc…
- Moving to the second page you’re going to write down all of the things that you spend money on each and every week. Here is where you’d write down your groceries and your gas. Additionally it would be things like your coffee, lunches, entertainment, etc…
- Assuming you get paid weekly you’ll now take all of your monthly payments that you have and divide it by four. Write that amount down for each week on your weekly budget page.
- Now you’ll take those totals and subtract them from your weekly paycheck so you can get your remaining amount.
If the amount that you’re left with is a positive figure you’re doing pretty good and you should look towards putting some of the money that you’re left with each week into an emergency savings fund so you’re not caught off guard should something unexpected happen.
If you’re in the negative and using your credit cards to make up the difference you’re going to need to rethink your spending habits on your entertainment, eating out and all of the things that you could cut back on so you can get your finances to where they need to be and start an emergency saving so you won’t get back into a bad position. If you’ve found yourself in debt from spending beyond your means you’ll want o use some of that to pay more than the minimums to get your debt knocked out.
