Cara Beall’s essays and reviews have appeared in newspapers, magazines, on radio and online. She has lectured at the 92nd St Y in New York City and at universities and organizations throughout the US. In 2007 after decades of suffering from a rare form of porphyria with symptoms including low energy, weight gain, light sensitivity and daily pain, she transformed her health without the help of the medical/pharmaceutical industry by switching to a raw vegan diet.
