MASTER ESTHETICIAN, ASPIRING MAKEUP ARTIST, INTERIOR DECORATOR, WIFE

My blog handle was my first BIG step into living my Style Statement and it’s been great to be known and associated with it. It really expressed who I am, and strive to be everyday. I write what I am passionate about, and makes me happy. I write about what I enjoy and who or what inspires me.

How did you you arrive at your Style Statement?

I was browsing Barnes and Noble for some interesting books to add to my book collection when I found the Style Statement book. I actually thought it was something that I would read about and be inspired by, not a Q&A that really made me think. After finishing school and living away from home I had grown and changed so much that I needed to redefine who I was. The self discovery in this book was eye opening and it felt good.

What does your Style Statement mean to you? How do you interpret your first and second words?

It reminds me to be who I am naturally and accept that. Being creative has always been apart of who I am, so that felt right from the beginning. I have realized that I am great at creating beautiful things and do it naturally, so the fit was near perfect.

How has your Style Statement been useful to you

I have it as my blog handle, it has given me recognition, it’s a reminder to be just me. I have realized and taken hold of feelings and thoughts that I never decided on completely. It’s a reminder to LOVE something before I do it, not just be undecided.

Where in the world have you, or do you, feel most at home—and why?

I feel most at home in Idaho, at my grandmothers home. I spent several summers there growing up and spending quality family time there. I knew that there was unconditional love when I visited, grandparents have a way of perfecting that.

I surround my self with images of happiness and inspirational images. My bedroom is on the contemporary side with touches of nature, mostly trees and leaves. I love the fall season it inspires me the most, the colors, the smells, the images, the crisp cool air.

What inspires you? How do you know when you’re inspired?

The fall season is my most inspiration, the feeling I get when that time comes around is incredible. Sweaters. Boots. Pea coats. Jeans. Fires. Falling leaves—Red, green, yellow, orange, brown..and all the hues in between. I am also inspired by others around me who have passions for what they do, to see someone love what they do, you can’t help but feel the positive energy radiate out of them. Music and Wholesome Laughter.

When I feel that warmth it sends tingles though out my body and I am filled with excitement, I can’t help but giggle.

If you could where one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I imagine it would be casual jeans with a faded feel, brown leather belt with silver accents, brown fashion boots, white tee, worn dark brown leather jacket, silver hoop earrings, and my makeup done with long blonde curly hair.

What do you like to be notice for, and appreciated for? What kind of friend are you?

I give the benefit of doubt until proven wrong. I love people, and cherish my relationships. I love being noted for how I have helped someone feel or be inspired. Recognizing my personal growth has helped my a lot, I realize that I am much more than I usually think I am.

Five Books That Have Inspired You?

    • Most recently Face Forward by Kevyn Aucoin. He is a talented makeup artist, in this particular book he displays some of his most creative work with celebrities, making them into other icons. It’s just incredible.
    • The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. The power of positive thinking, gratitude, love and what it does for you as a person. It’s beautiful.
    • Small and Simple Things by Majorie Pay Hinckley. She writes about the simple things she has learned from life and shares it in a small book. Inspirational thoughts and quotes that I enjoy reading.
    • I am a big fan of the Stephanie Meyer’s series of Twilight. It’s an easy enjoyable read, she is a great writer who brings new light on fiction with the Cullen Family and just how human she portrays them.
    • Style Statement by Carrie and Danielle. It really truly has inspired me, its given me guidance to find who I truly am and why I love or hate the things I do. ( And I’m not just saying this. It’s really in my top 5. )
