Acne Treatment Skin Care
If the case of infection with acne is not severe, then washing the infected area twice a day could be very effective with acne. Some doctors may suggest creams containing salicylic acid or benzyl peroxide that help in healing the infected areas.
A typical case for moderate acne is the famous case when half of your face is covered with whiteheads and blackheads. Usually for the moderate cases, doctors describe retinoid creams or antimicrobial creams, as these creams can put these moderate cases under control. Some doctors may recommend the use of oral medications for acne skin care treatment, or they can recommend a mixture of treatments, such as topical creams along together with light therapy. It’s very urgent that moderate cases of acne should be treated under the supervision of a specialist doctor, or they might leave scars.
Severe cases of acne usually include red inflamed cysts. Acne does not get to this stage, until already great harm has already occurred, with a fine number of scars. That is the reason why we should not let the acne get to this dangerous, and harmful stage. A popular medication, acutane, along with an anti-biotic, isconsidered to be the classical recipe for severe cases of acne.
Acutane is not considered a very healthy medication for pregnant women, as it may cause defects, including mental retardation and physical malformations. If you are a woman of childbearing age, you will be asked by your doctor to sign a detailed consent form before taking Accutane. Consulting your doctor will be urgent, if you are pregnant accidentally. Acne surgeries that use drainage techniques may play an important role in severe infections. Your doctor may also describe corticosteroid injections, or any other appropriate form of treatment, depending on the level of severity.
